With many thousands of clients having requested premium relief from us, it goes without saying that you're not alone in these tough financial times.  

As part of our commitment to helping you during this time, Liberty will keep providing assistance to you if you are experiencing financial difficulties.

We have been adjusting cover options to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic and the unpredictability it brings to all of our lives.

On our flagship Lifestyle Protector policies, our premium flexibility option allows you to reduce premiums and benefits for a period of up to 6 months from the date the option is taken. To date, we have had just over 10,000 clients make use of the premium flexibility option to reduce their benefits and premiums.

On funeral products, clients can make use of a premium skip option, and to date, we have had approximately 30,000 funeral policyholders make use of our skip option.

Currently the extension of relief will continue for another month on other products.

“At this stage the measures we have in place on investment products like retirement annuities and endowments enable clients to cease paying premiums until the end of September,” says David Jewell, Group Executive for Retail Solutions at Liberty.

Approximately 60,000 clients have made use of premium relief options on investment products. 

The value of advice cannot be understated particularly since the trajectory of the pandemic is constantly evolving in a way that keeps throwing up surprises.
