Living Lifestyle
The Living Lifestyle Benefit pays out a lump sum if you are diagnosed with one of the 31 specified conditions. Payment is determined by determining the severity and level of the Critical Illness based on the benefit categories and payment criteria as outlined by Liberty. There are more options that are available on Living Lifestyle to provide for more comprehensive protection.
There are a number of benefit categories covered by Living Lifestyle:

Entry ages:
- Min: 15 next birthday (Level and Renewable)
- Min: 20 next birthday (Age Rated)
- Max: 60 next birthday for term to 65.
- Max: 70 next birthday for Whole of Life.

- Term to age 65
- Whole of life

Benefit limits:
- Min: R100 000
- Max: R4 500 000 (for Challenge 2008 only)

Top up:
Certain benefit categories pay 25%, 50% or 75% of the sum assured, according to the severity of the condition. If you select the Top-Up option, the payment amount increases to 100% at the lower severities.

Survival period:

Extended:
On diagnosis of certain conditions, which have a low impact on lifestyle, an amount of between 5% and 15% is paid in addition to the normal payment. Combination of Top Up and Extended options available.

The Living Lifestyle and Living Lifestyle Plus benefits comply with the standard critical illness benefit criteria set by the Association for Savings and Investment SA (ASISA). This ensures that the benefit criteria for these benefits are objective and consistent with the minimum industry standards adopted.
The Living Lifestyle and Living Lifestyle Plus benefits with the Top Up and Extended option pays the following percentage of the sum assured, for the conditions recommended by ASISA.
